Spice It at ibis Gurugram offers a 24 hour multi cuisine casual dining . It is located at Gurugram’s premium address- The Golf Course Road . It has tried to expand its reach to non residents by curating an innovative yet ultra reasonable menu . The interiors of the place are simple yet colorful and jocund . Lights are big and round and wall decor is very chic . It has an elaborate a-la-carte menu along with breakfast , lunch and dinner buffets as well . I can advocate that their buffets are nothing like the regular buffets we find at other places . Hawker house counters present during the buffet are the major highlight showcasing their entirely new concept . The restaurant combines authentic delicacies of several cuisines with impeccability . Influence of Tibet , Burma and Kolkata can be seen in the dishes . I started with an orange slush with feta and aubergine salad while my friend ordered crispy corns and veg momos . On one hand , orange slush and crispy corns had very desi falvors while momos and the salad , on the other hand catered more to international palate . We also ordered the traditional Burmese khao suey and Lebanese falafel with pita . They were surely a flavor bomb . We had the Kolkata rool which had crispy fried potato fingers and papri chhat . They both sure can take you on a crazy culinary journey . We ended our meal with Parle-G cheese cake , mango mousse , and a choco cake . Parle -G cheese cake gets a special mention and is a must try . It has the perfect balance of crispness and smooth texture of cream cheese . I am sure one can never have a lot of it . The staff is very educated and knowledgeable about the dishes and treated us with immense warmth . A major thumbs up to the staff . Also the manager is very friendly and welcoming . All in all , ibis promises modernity , culinary finesse and an amazing dining experience at best price !!!

Diabetic? A special menu for you now!

The prevalence of diabetes is increasing menacingly. And as of now, India is one of the top 3 countries with a high diabetic population. Surprisingly, as treated earlier as a hereditary disease, diabetes has now turned more into a lifestyle disease. As prevention is always better than cure, people are getting health conscious and turning into maintaining a normal body weight, engaging in physical activities and looking for healthier options in their consumption of food.

Taking this into attention, Seema Pinto and her husband Manoj Pinto, have conceived the ‘Diabetic Food trail’. The food trail also concentrates on food that the diabetes and the health conscious usually dread off – ‘the Desserts’, other than the varied choices (read healthy) at several popular restaurants.


The first one to be held in Delhi-NCR, kick started on 12th Nov’16 and is scheduled to be on for the next three weeks, till 30th of Nov’16. Seema, who is a diabetic herself said, she got conscious about what she was eating just 2-3 years ago and found that not many options that are available were diabetic friendly especially when it comes to desserts. So, along with Britannia Nutri Choice essentials and in association with Biocon, they have come up with a ‘Healthy Food Trail’. There are multiple participating restaurants and all of them will feature complete diabetic friendly menus.

We got an opportunity to be a part of the ‘Healthy Dessert Trail’ that was conducted by Seema and team on 19th Nov’16. Wherein we hobnobbed to dig into delicious desserts without worrying about the calorie intake. The dessert trail consisted of a plan to visit 4 well known restaurants – Bercos, Getafix, Bohemia and G’s Patisserie and tried out the healthy desserts on serve over there.

The menu handed out to us had the kcals, fat, carbs and proteins mentioned against each of the desserts that we tried. Starting from cheesecakes to cobblers, from cakes to pies and from Tiramisu to caramel custards, who knew that diabetics or the health freaks can also have an arrays of options to choose from ? And that too, without compromising on the taste. It’s a general notion that sugar-free based desserts are overtly sweet, wherein in the ‘HDT’ we found out that there is hardly any difference in taste, with the usage of sugar free in the preparation.

Each of the desserts are carefully prepared considering the health and nutritional benefits, and the chefs assured that the calories consumed are almost half of what a non-sugar-free dessert offers. The food trail also includes events like Diabetic food masterclass and fitness camps. The aim behind such an initiative is to inform diabetic people that they have choices and they need to deprive, starve or have tasteless bland food for their major cravings. Making dietary changes and choosing good fats not only prevents diabetes but also helps in keeping your health parameters on check.

The party thrown to launch Zone by the Park in itself spoke volumes about the quality of service and the brand promise.
The snacks were great, and also had some unusual live counters representing the Zone hotels from each city. There were live Pasta Counters, Dosa Counters and Dimsum Counters as well.
The bar was open with high class malts flowing freely.
The dinner also included some famous regional dishes like the Lal Maas, Gulab Jamum ki Sabzi etc. and it was delectable.
